Biography

I was born in South Africa. During my school days, I started my first two businesses. The first was building kites and selling them for a profit (there was a market for kites in those days). The second business I started was repairing and restoring old bicycles, selling them at a profit, and moving onto repairing mopeds and then motor cars.

I graduated from high school in 1961 and immediately studied and qualified as an Industrial Chemist. I started work as a laboratory assistant, studied further and was promoted to senior research paint chemist, then to resin chemist and finally works chemist. During my working career, I invented numerous unique products in the paint and resin field.

I started my own business in 1979 and invented a special nail varnish remover, and non static tack cloth. Both products were badly needed in their respective fields. I sold the business in South Africa and moved to Vancouver in 1988 where I bought a chemical company and expanded from there.

In 1989, I invented the friction modifiers and we built a huge company around this products. The company was bought out in 2005

During my career, I have also consulted and worked on various products for other companies. I am now retired and enjoying life, thanks to letting go of my invention.
