British Columbia Inventors Society

An organization dedicated to assisting new inventors to develop and market their ideas.

The purposes of our website are:

  • To introduce you to the Society and its activities.
  • To keep you informed about our monthly meetings where you can meet other inventors, share experiences, and listen to our keynote speakers.
  • To share information that may be of interest for you about previous speakers in our speakers section.
  • To bring you up-to date information about activities and events related to the field of inventing in our News section.
  • To give you a voice through our Forum section, where any society member whose membership dues are up to date can post comments, i.e. participate in discussions, or create a new forum topic (thread) that might be of interest to all.

Here is what you had to say at our first meeting on the year on January 27. These coming months, we will try, in different ways, to address most of these issues.

  • February Meeting: Building a team around you to make your invention marketable

    All inventors believe that their invention is the best thing on earth and they believe everybody will fall over themselves rushing to buy their product. Unfortunately, this is not quite true as we have seen many times on The Dragons Den.

    During this presentation, Mr. Kelvin Chiddick will address the following points:
    -What any inventor needs to do before spending a fortune on patent, etc.
    -The best kind of products to come up with.
    -How you and your product are only as good as the team around you.
